There’s a long lasting debate about Genetically Modified Products (GMP) especially on food products. Lots of people said that GMP is the answer for soaring demand of food while others denied it and recall that GMP has more bad effects than a good one.
GMP has been widely used in food industry today. Like it or not, most of our food products in the market are made from ingredients come from genetically modified crops or organisms. GMP is really fit the concept of high scale farming. With genetic modification, we can get seed with much higher productivity and also better resistance against disease and parasites. It could also produce livestock with higher amount of meat or milk production. The high concern on GMP is about the safety. It comes from the fact that to built plant resistance on certain disease or insects, the gene to produce particular toxin is inserted to the plant genes. The safety issue is whether the toxin produced by GMP could give bad effect to human body.
There’ll be long lasting controversy about safety issue on GMP. But it isn’t all about health and safety issue. GMP is a real proof of corporation domination. As the company holds the patent for the GMP crop, farmers must buy the seed and become very depended to the company. Off course it is against the fair trade concept.

As most of us already knew, vegetarians avoid animal-based products in their diet. Some people choose being a vegetarian as their life style for religious belief while other found that vegetarianism could make their lifestyle much better and much healthy.
Lots of people consider being vegetarian as honorable as they are respecting life. It is also said that vegetarianism is also much healthy as they don’t get bad effect of cholesterols and other substances found on meat. That’s from the pros of vegetarianism. But the cons also have arguments on nutritional controversy on vegetarian diet. The fact is there are essential nutrients only found on meat of fish. Vegetarian diet is actually if it is based on vegetables, beans or grains. But as a matter a fact, most vegetarian diets are based on high carbs and we know that there’re bad effects of high carbs diet.
Beyond the nutritional factors of vegetarian diet, it also has issues on other factors. As vegetarian diet is based on fresh vegetables, fruits and beans, you need to see the fact that those could be genetically modified products (GMP). Not to mention the chemical residues from the farming system. Thinking about organic foods? Well, you will be amazed on the fact that those products could be very expensive.

Do you know what the hardest part of diet program is? It isn’t about less amount of food we like but the hardest part is stay away from snack. It is a fact that most of us like to eat snack while we are watching TV, reading books, or just in the spare time.
Snack is delicious and definitely fun. But it is also obvious that snack is far from healthy. Most snack products are high carbs and fats from deep oil frying. Not to mention salt and preservatives. As you like to eat chips or pop corn, you add high amount of carbs and off course, cholesterol to your body. Off course, you can get a successful diet if you keep eating snack. However, changing your habit of eating snack is very difficult. Well, it isn’t impossible but very difficult.
Rather than completely stop eating snack with high risk of failure, its better you change what you eat. Instead of potato or tortilla chips, or candy, you can provide fresh fruits or crunchy vegetable, off course with dip to make it much delicious as healthy snack. You still enjoying your snack while watching TV but the snack are much healthier than before. Off course, it isn’t the ideal solution but at least, it’s a good compromise.
