Back to nature becomes a new trend among lots of people all over the world. Along with the green movement, it is said that back to nature is the best answer for sustainable environment. One of the effects back to nature movement is the rise of organic food.

More and more people choose organic food for their diet. Some of them think choosing organic food is their idealistic against capitalism while other just follow the trend and affected with the campaign that organic food is much healthy. Let’s admit that most of us choose organic food more for lifestyle than health concern. So, how do you know that your food is really organic? Organic food is more than just food with the absence of chemical ingredients but it involves holistic and ecologically balanced process in production and processing process.

All natural ingredients-food doesn’t automatically consider as organic food. In most country like US and European countries, every food product should meet national standards for organic food certification as organic product. A comprehensive inspection on the whole production process is applied to ensure that it is compliant with the organic product certification standards. Food products with organic certification are allowed to have organic food label on the packaging to help consumer to identity organic product.

It is said that we are what we eat. It means that our food preference really shows who we really are. If you want to achieve healthy lifestyle, of course you choose healthy food as your preference. But what is healthy food actually?

The term of healthy food is rather difficult to be described. Some says that healthy food is all natural food without preservatives or chemical substances while other recall healthy food as food with low or no cholesterol. Well, actually the term of healthy food is rather absurd. Even most nutrition professionals usually don’t use this term. It should be understood that there are many factors correlated with the health effect of a certain food to our body. It could be said that healthy food is varies from one person to another.

We must remember that each person has different nutritional needs based on age, activities as well as specific requirements. Moreover, there’s no single food could provide all complete nutrition we need. The way we balance our diet with varieties of food to meet our nutritional need, that’s what healthy food really are. How much and how often we eat the food also important to determine whether we have healthy food or not even for the fact that the food is a healthy one.
